Blackpink’s Rose is among Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025 (2025)

Rose of K-pop girl group Blackpink has been named as one of The 100 Most Influential People of 2025 by Time magazine.

The 28-year-old was selected as a Pioneer in the annual list published in the United States on April 16.

Emily In Paris (2020 to present) star Lily Collins, 36, a self-professed Blackpink fan, or Blink, contributed a write-up that accompanied Rose’s inclusion to the list. The pair met at a Saint Laurent fashion show in Paris in 2024.

The British-American actress sang the praises of Rose, calling her a “dynamic performer and songwriter” and added she is “really genuine and down to earth”.

“I think it’s incredible that she’s able to captivate arenas full of people as both a member of the biggest girl group in the world and also as a solo artiste,” Collins gushed, and touted the pop star as “the definition of an icon and a boss”.

She added, referencing two of Rose’s solo numbers: “Her voice is so strong and her music is so much fun – and I love texting her every time I hear Apt. or Toxic Till The End on the radio.

“I just adore Rose’s spirit and, really, everything about her. I’m so proud of all the things she’s done in the past year, and I feel so lucky to call her a friend.”

Rose responded to Collins’ write-up over an Instagram Story and said: “The sweetest Lily Collins, you’re gonna make me cry.”

The New Zealand-born singer thanked and tagged Time magazine in an Instagram Story, writing: “What a wild thing to wake up to.”

Other artistes selected by Time as influential figures in 2025 include English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, and American actors Scarlett Johansson and Adam Scott.

Rose, whose real name isRoseannePark, released her debut solo studio album Rosie in December 2024. It included the songs Apt. and Toxic Till The End. The former, a catchy tune and collaboration with American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, was released earlier in October and quickly went viral.

The smash hit has stayed on Billboard’s Hot 100 for 25 weeks consecutively, and is currently ranked No. 13 on the chart dated April 19. It peaked at No. 3 in February. The song’s music video broke one billion views on YouTube in January, becoming the fifth-fastest MV to achieve this milestone.

Aside from solo achievements, Rose will reunite with her Blackpink bandmates Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo for a world tour that kicks off at the Goyang Stadium in South Korea in July.

Rose was recently spotted showing her support for Lisa and Jennie at their solo Coachella outings during the first leg of the American music festival held in California from April 11 to 13. She posted on Instagram photos and videos of herself and Lisa at Jennie’s set, dancing and singing in the audience.

In a clip posted by MTV UK, Rose also interviewed Lisa about her debut solo Coachella outing, while sitting on Lisa’s lap.
